Some call it Fashion Friday, I call it F-makeover Friday, really creative I know. So I've decided to give you a bit of a run down on my makeup routine, because I like to read about what other put on their faces, so I thought i'd share my own 'carefully manufactured' routine! Most of the products I use are available at either a drug store, or Sephora (UK/US may vary)!
ON MY FACE:
Obviosuly after taking good care of my skin by washing it and moisturizing it and putting a little anti ageing eye cream on (yes I know I'm only 21, its a preventative technique...I'll let you know if it works in 30 years time), I'll begin with a primer. The best, Urban Decay Optical iIlusion, complexion primer. It makes my skin super smooth, and then makes my whole face look pretty fab once my foundation is on, so I highly recommend it, if you like a smooth finish! The NARS, All Day Luminous foundation is ultimately my favourite product I have ever bought for $49, but I use it sparingly since I am currently an unpaid intern and this is half my weekly budget! I wish I could tell you what colour I use, but it has of course rubbed off, however im pretty sure It's fairly light because I am pretty bloody pale since I live in a 100 degree heat and don't dare to walk outside in the sun. Sometimes i'll use, the NARS illuminator under my foundation too, but mostly only if I'm going out to the cluuuub, as it gives my faces a nice dewy and 'illuminated' look, shock! My 'setting powder' I think you call it, has an unknown brand, as you can see it's all rubbed off, but It's probably just a 'cheapy' one from a drug store. My bronzer is the classic Hoola from Benefit, I love the colour and the consistency of it, it can be lightly bronzed all over you face or you can pack it on, which is what I like to do, because I'm all about the unblended-contoured-chiseled-face look, especially when I top it off with my 'cheapy' gold coloured highlighter from MUA that at the time cost me about £3 in England, but is available on amazon i'm sure.
ON MY EYES:
For my eyes, I have just started using the Urban Decay Colour Correcting Fluid before my foundation, and it practically blurs out any dark circles or impurities under the eye, its also pink which is great too! After applying my foundation, I use the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in colour Light/Warm. It's super lightweight and brightening, as I am very prone to under eye circles no matter how much sleep I get, so this product is my pot of gold! The next step is my eyebrows; I of course use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade, (lol i say of course like everyone should have it by now, yet I only actually discovered it a few weeks ago). I use the Taupe colour because it's quite a versatile shade...i think, thats what the girl in Sephora told me, and I went from bleach blonde to chocolate brown hair recently, and it's help up well with that change, so I guess it is pretty flexible. The NYX Faux White pencil in cream goes on the inner line of my lower lashes, to make them look bright and beautiful; although obviously I don't need much to make me look beautiful ;) And occasionally I will do a line of grey eyeliner on the top inner lash line, but its pretty painful to do that; it looks great, but it depends on whether I feel like poking my eyeball with a freshly sharpened pencil or not that day, and that pencil is just a 'cheapy' one from Bourjois, which I think you can only get in the UK at drugstores, or on amazon. I do get eyelash extensions, which I love but aren't for everyone, but I use the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless mascara on my bottom lashes. For eyeshadow, I don't wear it everyday, but I do like to branch out and try new pallettes, as we all do these days I suppose, but my favourite at the moment is actually Kylie Jenner's Kyshadow Bronze Pallette. The colours are super pigmented and the shadows are really soft and easy to blend.
At the end of my routine, I give my face a spritz with the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray, which is literally my saviour when I'm working and tend to get a sweat moustache all the time! I also just bought this Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray...I'm not sure what it does, but it smells good and supposedly makes me look dewy...if you like that, go for it!
So after all that, heres me before and after my morning glam sesh!
Enjoy, and Stay Bubbly!
